For dudes, there are several “ah, yeah! Like all Tropper books, Zack is kind of a loveable loser and is surrounded by an unforgettable ensemble cast. I like that Tropper’s protagonists, for all their everrything, are smart, acerbic and disarmingly self-aware.
Not only does Tropper tell a funny and highly ecerything story but he also creates characters that are complex and relatable in all of their imperfection. But as the wedding day looms, Zack finds himself haunted by the memory of his best friend, Rael, killed in a car wreck two years earlier—and by his increasingly complicated feelings for Tamara, the beautiful widow Rael left behind.
We all wrestle with family dynamics, we all feel ambivalence about the people we love, we all — at one time or another — find work boring and life unsatisfying. Discuss the choices Jonathan Tropper made in crafting a storytelling voice for Zach.

When her waters break on the morning of her fortieth birthday, she panics: Everything Changes certainly has elements of what could be considered “dude lit” — laughably bad dialogue, silly gratuitous sex scenes, drugs eeverything rock’n’roll.
Bitter is a beautiful and devastating novel about the decisions that define our lives, the fragility of love and the bond between mother and son. I do enjoy his style of writing.
